Rivera Rocafort, and Attorney and Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Conservation Trust and Para La Naturaleza, Fernando Lloveras San Miguel, announced the certification of additional ecological tour options in Puerto Rico. This collaboration aims to continue diversifying the Island’s offerings within the tourism sector to promote education and conservation on the Island, as well as increasing sustainable tourism for both local and international tourists.

New Slot Machines Coming to Luis Muñóz Marín International Airport

New project estimates an annual economic impact of $1.8 million to promote Puerto Rico

Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company (PRTC), Ingrid I. Rivera Rocafort, announced the first phase of the installation of 120 slot machines in Terminal A and B of the Luis Muñóz Marín International Airport. The second phase is scheduled to be completed October 2016, with the remaining 80 slot machines, 60 of which will be placed in Terminal C.

Puerto Rico Tourism Company and Department of Rehabilitation and Correction Collaborate on Manatee Conservation

Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company (PRTC), Ingrid I. Rivera Rocafort, and Secretary of the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (DRC), Einar Ramos López, announced their recent collaboration which supplied the Manatee Conservation Center (MCC) with decorative pieces in the shape of manatees. PRTC funded the materials used for the creation of the sculptures, made through the Business Program for Training and Profession.

Open Top Buses Arrive in Puerto Rico

Enrique Ybarra Valdenebro, President and CEO of City Sightseeing, and Ingrid I. Rivera Rocafort, Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company (PRTC), announced the arrival of City Sightseeing in Puerto Rico. City Sightseeing, an international tour bus company, will offer transportation services with its open top buses on the Island. Over the course of two years this $2.7 million partnership aims to create approximately 45 new jobs on the Island.

Historic sustainable tourism contract is renewed

The Puerto Rico Tourism Company (PRTC) and the Solid Waste Authority of Puerto Rico (SWAPR) signed a consented contract, valid for five years, with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to implement new sustainability practices within Puerto Rico’s tourism industry, as well as to strengthen PRTC’s Sustainable Tourism Program.

AC Hotel by Marriott to open in Condado, San Juan

AC Hotel development represents the most recent transformation of the tourism sector in Puerto Rico

Secretary of Government, Grace M. Santana Balado; Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company (PRTC), Ingrid I. Rivera Rocafort; President and CEO of Interlink, Federico Sánchez-Ortiz; and Vice President of the Caribbean and Latin America for Marriott International Inc., Andrew Houghton, announced the start of the construction for AC Hotel by Marriott in Condado, San Juan. The project equates to an estimated $45 million investment and will create nearly 520 new jobs throughout the construction and opening phases.

29 de junio de 2016 – San Juan – La secretaria de la gobernación, Grace M. Santana Balado, junto a la directora ejecutiva de la Compañía de Turismo de Puerto Rico, Ingrid I. Rivera Rocafort; al presidente & CEO de Interlink, Federico Sánchez-Ortiz y al vicepresidente del Caribe y América Latina para Marriott International Inc., Andrew Houghton anunció hoy el inicio de la construcción del AC Hotel by Marriott en el antiguo local del Radisson Ambassador Plaza & Casino en Condado. Esta nueva edificación, cuya inversión estimada es de $45 millones, creará aproximadamente 400 empleos en la fase de construcción y 120 cuando empiecen a operar.
