San Juan, PR – On Friday, June 8, 2018, Delta Air Lines inaugurated a daily flight between Atlanta (ATL) and San Juan (SJU) resulting in the increase from 3 to 4 of available daily flights between both cities. That same afternoon, the designated executive director of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company (PRTC), Carla Campos welcomed the airline’s Caribbean Operations Director, Natalie Foster, Delta executives, and guests to La Arcada at La Princesa Historic Building in Old San Juan, to commemorate the 65th anniversary since the airline’s arrival to the Island, the longest uninterrupted service period in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The new flight schedule between ATL – SJU will be available during the Summer. Starting on September 2nd, three flights will continue to service the route increasing once again to four on December 1st and continuing into 2019 and beyond. The fourth flight will increase seat availability by over 65,000 annually.
During the celebration, the Designated Executive Director presented Mrs. Foster with a plaque in recognition of the airline’s commitment to Puerto Rico. “On behalf of Governor Ricardo Rosselló and the Government of Puerto Rico, we would like to offer our deepest thanks to Delta for over six decades of service and commitment to Puerto Rico. The airline has proven to be a steadfast business partner that continues its grow and expansion with the intent to provide its clients with excellent quality of service. For this reason, it with great pleasure the Puerto Rico Tourism Company, alongside Delta, our clients and industry partners, commemorate over six decades of the airline’s operation in Puerto Rico”, stated Carla Campos, PRTC’s designated executive director.
