(SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico) May 10, 2018 – The Acting Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company (PRTC), Carla Campos, announced PRTC hosted Aquila’s Product Development and Excellence in Packaging Destination Experiences training workshop on May 10th and 11th at the Sheraton Old San Juan Hotel. Aquila is recognized as a leader in the cruise industry operations focused on customer service.

Beth Hatt, Aquila’s founder and team leader, oversaw the workshop. The two-day program included topics such as; the impact of the tourism industry and cruise industry on a travel destination, shore excursion operations, management of travelers’ expectations, planning shore excursions, and creating cost-effective tour packages. During her presentation Mrs. Hall emphasized the importance of providing cruise lines and passengers with WOW-factor experiences and options. Creating wonderful memories is key to making visitors want to return for additional visits to a travel destination.

“These workshops are part of PRTC’s initiatives to offer our industry associates access to seminars from experts in all international tourism sectors”, said Carla Campos, PRTC’s Acting Executive Director. “PRTC’s goal is to provide tourism partners with effective and relevant training to strengthen their customer service and marketing skills as they apply specifically to Puerto Rico as a cruise destination”.

The event included around 40 representatives from tour operator companies, restaurants and tourism attractions. “These conferences provide companies with the necessary tools to develop, improve, and thrive in their operations. Their success will drive Puerto Rico towards becoming the strongest and most attractive travel destination in the Caribbean. In turn, their accomplishments will showcase Puerto Rico’s evolution and readiness to welcome visitors and businesses as is stipulated by Governor Ricardo Roselló’s plan for economic development”.
