The arrival of the world’s largest cruise ship, Oasis of the Seas, projects an economic impact of $2.3 million
Governor Alejandro García Padilla announced the arrival of Oasis of the Seas, the world’s largest cruise ship, at the San Juan port. Oasis of the Seas accommodates 6,360 passengers and 2,394 crew members, and has scheduled six visits to the country this year, estimating a $2.3 million impact on the Puerto Rican economy. The governor also announced the early arrival of two additional cruise ships that will place Puerto Rico at the forefront of the Caribbean and global tourism industry. Allure of the Seas is scheduled to arrive to the Island in the early summer of 2016. Harmony of the Seas, scheduled to arrive in late 2016, will become the largest ship once it sails with a capacity to carry 6,780 passengers and 2,300 crew members.
